Calibre: Create your own e-book
Previously, I want to create the ebook for my Android phone. Then I look for the software to create ebook and a common ebook file format. Then I found that EPUB is a very popular ebook format. The apps such as Moon+ Reader and Aldiko support EPUB format.
So, to create our own ebook, Calibre is a good choice. It can convert my ODT and DOC files to EPUB. Moreover, the HTML file with table of content can also be converted to EPUB.
Zotero: More than notetaking
Since I am doing research. My good supervisor introduced me to use reference manager software such as Mendeley Desktop or JabRef. This is because writing the article, we always need to do citation and reference.
Since I am using LibreOffice, both can integrate with LibreOffice Writer. However, JabRef does not work as LibreOffice Writer extension. It is more complicated. This makes me try Mendeley Desktop.
Mendeley Desktop provides extension for Writer. It works fine. But when I want to insert citation, the Mendeley Desktop window will be in front, it is a little annoying.
Yet Another "Talk" Show...
ya… another new “chat” on the net in town,
ie. ChatOn
by Samsung Electronics,
available on iOS and Android,
ooh, Android, kononnya, but not my droid, again!!! _
my iPod Touch 2nd Gen, na… not compatible, same “problem” as viber had on it, (ok, my problem, viber already said, they don’t officially support iPod Touch 2nd Gen anymore!)
but ChatOn is worse, it’ll just crash and “exit” the programme on its own…
Cross platform text editor: jEdit
As a software developer, a good text editor is always needed. I don’t like to use any IDE (Integrated Development Environment), but I think Eclipse is a very good IDE.
As a Linux user, at least need to know how to use a text-based editor: nano, vim, or emacs. vim and emacs are very powerful text editor. And learning to use these two text editors is really very troublesome. The main reason is there are too many commands or shortcuts need to memorize. But both of them has these good features:
Android game: Fruit Ninja
Installed Fruit Ninja in my Android. A very nice and addictive game. I just unlock all the blades and the backgrounds. The most difficult blade to get is “Shadow Blade”. In order to get it, we must get 234 score in the Arcade mode. Yeah, I managed to get it. To get it, just try to get 184 with only slice one kind of banana, freezing or frenzy, not double point banana. Then, At the final score, might add up 50 score at the end. Then the total will be 234. Try it, you might like.
APNDroid
ya… I’ve finally managed to narrow down and identify what’s the cause of my expensive mobile phone bill…
as I don’t work anymore, I only wanna stick to my plan, ie. DG30, ie. 30 bucks per month, max!!!
but then, I’ve been suffering a lot, for the past few months,
due to 3G/GPRS network usage,
simply because, my phone (Garmin-Asus A10) is not able to PRIORITIZE the network usage,
ie. it’s definitely not that smart, as a smartphone…
Sure Win with Snoopy's Street Fair
Hahaha~
yes… due to the “kiasuism”… I’ve found a way,
not really sure win, cos, it can’t help you to win bucks…
but then, by putting all these snack cart… you know the end result?
cos, each cart’s available for coin collection every 45s, that also means…
you can’t get your hands off the game,
as simple as that, but THAT’ll help you to go level up pretty fast, and achieve those “items” collection pretty fast too…
Naver's Line Season's Wallpaper
It’s the season again,
and I love what naver’s updated in its wallpaper selection… it feels so sweet… isn’t it? ^_^
not to advertise for them,
but no wonder they reached 8 mil. download in such short time… hehehe…
I am a Flight Tycoon!
ok… I’ve moved my “stage” from facebook, to iOS,
of course, I am now hooked on Snoopy’s Street Fair,
but then, just today, I discovered another game… simply because of the graphics,
it’s kinda cute, and interesting,
for me to manage,
as well as for my daughter to look at it…
as she loves those vehicles, planes, cars… bla bla bla…
DESTINIA: Android game
One of the best features I like for Android phone, is the free apps in Android Market. Spending time waiting someone or spending time just for waiting? Then probably you would like to play a game with your Android phone.
I like to play RPG games with good drawing for the characters, especially Japanese manga liked characters. Android Market provides several free games fulfil my taste. Try this, DESTINIA, you might like it. But this is ARPG.
